Robotic Palletising Cell

Make largerThis box palletising cell was designed, manufactured and installed by Montip. It operates on a 3 X 8-hour shift basis which guarantees significant labour savings and a very short return on the customer’s original investement. The workhorse of the cell is a Fanuc Robotics M410i robot fitted with a multipurpose cutsom-made gripper manufactured by Montip.

Make largerThe system is designed to palletise three different products from three different conveyors simultaneously, using both standard and euro pallets supplied from two automatic pallet magazines. The complete system has three conveyors supplying the product to the palletizer, three conveyors taking the full pallets from the palletizer, and two conveyors transporting the empty pallets to the palletizer. All conveyors have stainless steel chassis fitted with a modular belt. This ensures that the conveyors can be easily cleaned and are virtually maintenance free. The entire cell is enclosed with a Stainless steel mesh guard with the pallet exits being protected by light curtains.

The gripper which was manufactured by Montip is a combination of both vacuum and mechanical arms. With this combination it is possible to pick both empty pallets and full boxes of product.

The entire cell and conveyors are controlled using a two wire Asi system with remote I/O placed at different locations around the palletising area. The operator interface is a Pro Face touch screen with all I/O and alarms being displayed for easy fault finding and maintenance.
